NBA 2K21 Next Generation on Xbox Series X isalso, as its name suggests, the next-gen version of the first game which has been released in September 2020, of which we analyzed on Xbox One rather favorably. Here the team of developers has built a new variant of the game for the new console, operating from the bottom up. But honestly, from the get-go, it is going to be the visuals that stand out. The next positive thing for the next-gen variant is located in the loading times. In the previous generation, it felt like a lifetime waiting for those loading screens. Now, whilst it's not instant, it's very fast indeed and you'll quickly be getting down and involved in the playing of a game until you know it.

There is no getting away from it, NBA 2K21 appears fantastic, from how the person players move across the courtroom to the shine of wood from the spotlights. The player models look fantastic and so are highly detailed in everything they do; if that be skirting around the courtroom, becoming involved in celebrations, or listening to the coach in a timeout. There is also a great sense of realnessenergy, and everything atmosphere living, with the arenas you play in vibrant. Crowds look real and the atmosphere seeps out from the sidelines so much you could almost smell it. It most certainly feels a step up from what I saw of the previous version on the Xbox One. Movement feels smooth and easy as well, with the developers having worked ironing out flaws in measures, and it just feels much more dynamic to play. The odd glitch and strange bit of movement from the gamers kick in occasionally, but that seems to be off the court in timeouts rather than from the play.

The next generation of consoles also gives you more control over how the players move. There have been minor adjustments to the shot control in addition to layup release, giving you the most influence you ever had in shooting the ball into the ring. Ball physics and handling also have changed, being enhanced to be a whole lot more realistic, providing you more accurate trajectory arcs to the long threes. The more complicated movements that have the improved controls also introduce new animations. More advanced players will have the ability to show off their skills with how they flick the control sticks. Even the speed and pressure of your flick will matter -- allowing players to pull off slick tricks on the court. The next-gen variations of NBA 2K21 also allow for finer control of your player. As a result of the more sensitive controls, you'd have the ability to earn very incremental moves. You'll no longer move a whole foot away if you merely wanted to step-back to approve of the arc. There will not be any more unintended turns that usually ruin plays, ending in turnovers.
