The impact of caste-based politics on political representation is profound and multifaceted. On one hand, it can be argued that caste-based mobilization has facilitated the representation of marginalized caste groups in the political arena. Historically oppressed castes, such as Dalits and Other Backward Classes (OBCs), have found a platform to voice their concerns and advocate for their rights through political participation. The reservation of seats for Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and OBCs in legislatures has also contributed to greater representation from these communities.
