This was the clear choice and that I love the appearance of the current gen pay... however, the cynic in me feels weird about 2K also bumping up the price to $69.99 for the next-gen version this time around. It is hard to see that rather than believe that 2K understands having Kobe on the cover is likely to make people think less about that price tag. The Kobe Editions are the exact same price, current and following gen. It's the base game that is more costly on next gen. The Kobe edition is also the only one which offers a free upgrade to the next gen version should you buy the current gen version. In 2005, I probably would've looked at myself for saying that statement crazy. After the launch of NFL 2K5 however, the NBA 2K series now is so bothersome as a basketball enthusiast. Here's to hoping that some contest comes around shortly. I dununpopular belief but as someone who actually only plays with MyGM it's still fantastic. I've never jumped online once rather than played with the MyPlayer. If you ignore the VC and MT hell NBA 2K has become, the base game and the GM style remains second to none.

I rather agree with this but also NBA 2Kplay feels worse. I had had a great break that is 3-4 and coming back it was a small jolt. They will need to work on the gameplay in a manner that they have since 2K11.

Yeah I gotId disagree w you guy. I've played 2K from 2K6-2K20 (and stopped buying them after 2K16). They've removed great features over time, become extremely exploitative with VC/MT, and have not notably improved the dreadful AI and role-playing game in years. They coast from the chokehold on the market and dedicate all their tools to superficial nonsense like Spike Lee directing unskippable cutscenes or Idris Elba being your mentor. Unacceptable shit happens every time I play with a 2K game. The CPU opponent might dribble outside the 3pt line for 23 seconds then get their shit packed on a greatly contested 3.

My CPU teammates can't fill lanes or have inexplicable breakdowns on defense. Random 360 windmills in traffic blocked when it firmly dropped in the hoop. I can't even create the MyPlayer I want because they imposed these bs limitations on stats and created NBA 2K far more grindy. It's a crock of shit. They are the worst developers possible.
