I have noticed this some time ago when many people believed that 'the Slayerdart doesn't have a magic bonuses' (which isn't true) However, it's been circulating for so long that it is fake, yet i observed that lots of people are still using it! One person who is high (and already has 91magic), tried slayer dart in barrows for a few hours, and gained 400kxp. But it is possible that if he had tried firewave (which is similar strength but with more knowledge) it could have gained 1.25m.
My friend is taking barrows for just two days. I have repeatedly told him to not use the slayerdart, but to use earthwave (can't yet utilize firewave) as it will give me more experience and is exactly the same. But i saw him only a few moments ago, because he wanted me check his attire. What do I find? SLAYER DART
Once again explaining why not to make use of it, he agrees with me and buys the earth battlestaff. Because the battlestaff was a source of inspiration for him by the slayerdart-wearing people on YouTube, he bought an earth battlestaff.
This all led to this question: Do you make use of weapons like fire blasts, wave attacks or like a slayerdart Is magic something you don't employ? This isn't an opportunity to vote. It's more about the reason people are using it rather and not how they use it. Let's get straight to the point. Can you explain why people still used slayerdart in a time when death runes cost more?
This thread is intended for me to offer my guesses and possibly some additional evidence. You don't need to read further in case you don't find the new skill completely unexpected.
