Ultimate Team has replaced the solo challenges which were present in previous games however, they operate like the previous games in that the player competes against the computer. Like last year's entry the game has seen a significant change regarding the player's ratings. Building an entire team can be enjoyable. It works much like a management sim and requires players to differentiate important information from trivial. While this might not be the most enjoyable game for a lot of players, it does require an extensive amount of planning and rich and full of customisation.
Madden's story mode that has a poorly written narrative that has thin narratives, might be the most awful feature EA has ever had in their games for sports. It's apparent that the exact outcome would have occurred regardless of which option players choose to play even though they have various choices. This is a further indication of the amount of things which aren't clearly stated within the game.
All the voices of actors were recorded and the animations are pathetic. Some parts of the voice acting are missing, where characters speak clearly but make no noise.
There are a few issues in the game, including the frustrating lag of kick meters, however there are still plenty of fun improvements. There two new movements, the side hurl and dead leg, help to combat the defense with a greater degree that in previous games and increases the variety of ways to make the defender fail. With these new moves, the game's play is more fluid and that is what the game desperately needs.
The Franchise mode has been totally ignored and is very identical to last year's Madden. EA hasn't even thought to change the mode's layout therefore if this was a game mode that made players fell in love with last year's Madden then there's no need to spend the $60 to upgrade the game.
